We went to Scott's mom's house in Albuquerque for Memorial Day weekend to celebrate his step-sister Jamie's wedding! It was beautiful!! It was right by a golf course and was surrounded by the prettiest mountain views. Jamie looked gorgeous! Here are a few pictures of the day.

Scott, his mom Sandy, and brother Todd
We had so much fun at spending the weekend with them which included lots of family time, a rehearsal dinner for James and Jamie, wedding festivities and a baseball game followed by a bbq before we headed back home Monday evening.

More trips!! We were a little road trip happy in May and June. When I lived in Utah I felt like every where I wanted to go would take at least 8-10 hours. Now I feel like where we live gives us the best access to to all of our favorite places with a short road trip ie: 5.5 hours from Disneyland/beach/San Diego, 5.5 hours to Vegas, 6 hours to at least one of my sisters houses in Blanding, 6 hours to Scott's mom's house, kind of amazing right? We agree. So early one morning Scott came to wake me up (for some reason I can almost always sleep at least 2 hours later than him.. maybe a little embarrassing, but whatever), and he suggested we drive to Disneyland. Impromptu trips are probably on my top 5 favorite things. I don't think I got out of bed faster to get to my computer and start planning which hotel we would sleep in that night. I found a little $30 hotel (I couldn't sleep at first, because I kept imagining I would get attacked by bedbugs, but surprisingly we lived through the night). That day Scott's sister Rebecca and her BF John were in town for a vacation, so we met them for dinner in Scottsdale and this place called Postino's which has easily turned into on of our favorites. It was so good to see them and catch up! We love when family comes to visit us in AZ! (hint, hint to any family reading this). As soon as we said goodbye, we hit the road for Disneyland. We got in pretty late, around 1AM, slept a few hours, and were sure to be up by the time Disneyland opened. My favorite part about the day, okay 2 favorites: first when we went to grab some lunch and the cashier in the food court asked if we were celebrating anything...so we looked at each other and said, yep our anniversary - 2 whole months. She said congratulations and gave us each a button that said "Happy Anniversary." Naturally, I put mine in my camera bag, and Scott put his on his shirt sleeve. Every time we passed a disney employee, they had the biggest smile as they told us "Happy Anniversary!" That place runs like a well oiled machine... not one person missed saying it to us in character.
The second favorite was when we made new friends at Disneyland, and ended up going on a few rides with them. It was kinda funny because they had a button on too, while we were standing in line for a ride, so I told them congratulated them on their anniversary, next thing I know Scott is best friends with the girls husband and we are exchanging cell phone numbers for when they come to phx someday. It was all weird/fast/a little awkward, I mean I have never switched numbers with a couple before... Scott is amazing at meeting new people everywhere we go and making friends quickly - I love that about him. Me...? not so good at it, so it's kinda nice to have a husband who is. Scott's step-brother Jason lives in California so when he found out we were there, and he lived close by, we couldn't pass up a chance to catch up with him in Downtown Disney for dinner. We didn't end up leaving until about 11PM... which meant a long way home through the night for work the next morning. Scott was quite the trooper and let me sleep while he drove the whole way home. And the poor guy had to work at 6AM Monday morning. Talk about a rough Monday. But I think we would both agree it was soooo worth it, and we'd even do it again.. hopefully soon! I promise I'm not wearing a fannypack in the picture below.. it's my camera case and for some reason I thought it was a good idea to clip it to my belt loop....lesson learned.

It's already been almost four months since the day our lives changed forever for the better. We have taken so many adventures since then and it has gone by so quickly. For Scott's birthday I surprised him with a trip to Vegas for the weekend. Although I use the word surprise loosely because he was on my computer and saw some windows up of Vegas, so I'm pretty sure he knew. It was a much needed relaxing weekend. Saturday we were out shopping and drove past the Planet Hollywood hotel where Jose Conseco was doing a meet and greet and signing autographs. I'm pretty sure Scott knows more about sports than anyone in the is world and always has stats ready when it comes to talking about any player. Jose was no exception.
